Which tool
Collage87 is five tools. Use the collage when several photos should become one PNG. Use split photo when one photo should become a ZIP of PNGs. Photo tile repeats one cell. Grid overlay draws lines. Brightness only changes brightness, contrast, or saturation, then you export that PNG into the next tool. Photos are not uploaded.

| You want | Open | You get |
|---|---|---|
| Several photos in one frame | Collage | One PNG at the canvas size you set. The button says Export PNG. |
| One photo cut into a grid | Split photo | A ZIP of PNGs. The button says Export ZIP. Files inside are split_row_column.png. |
| The same photo repeated | Photo tile | One PNG. Seams show unless the picture already matches at the edges. |
| Lines on a photo, for drawing | Grid overlay | A PNG at the photo's own pixel size. Lines only. It does not trace. |
| A lighter or darker file, then a collage or a split | Brightness | A PNG at the original pixel size. The collage does not read those sliders. |
Collage, split, and tile
The collage starts from empty cells. You put a photo in each cell, then Export PNG writes one file. The canvas opens at 1200×1200. The size buttons switch it to IG Portrait 1080×1350, IG Story 1080×1920, FB Post 1200×630, or FB Cover 1920×721. The width and height fields override the button. Export uses pixel ratio 1, so a 1080×1350 canvas is a 1080×1350 PNG named collage- plus a timestamp.
Split photo starts from one photo. It opens at 3 rows and 3 columns, gap 0%, margin 0%. Rows and columns each run from 1 to 10. Export ZIP downloads split_images- plus a timestamp, and the pieces inside are named split_1_1.png at the top left through split_3_3.png at the bottom right when you leave it at 3×3.
Photo tile also starts from one photo, but it copies that cell instead of cutting it. Rows and columns go to 20, and the scale slider runs from 0.1× to 5×. A 1000×1000 photo at 10×10 and scale 1 is a 10000×10000 PNG. The tool does not blend edges.
If the sentence in your head is "one picture made of several pictures," open the collage. If it is "this one picture, cut up so I can post the pieces," open split photo. If it is "this one picture, stamped across the page," open photo tile. Those three jobs do not share a canvas.
What the sliders actually limit
| Control | Range | What the number means |
|---|---|---|
| Collage, Spacing and Outer Margin | 0% to 20% | A percent of the shorter canvas side. The sliders start at 1%, so the cells do not touch until you set Spacing to 0. |
| Collage, Roundness | 0% to 50% | A percent of the shorter side of that cell. 0% is a sharp corner. |
| Collage, custom rows | 1 to 10 | The Rows field in the layout panel. Horizontal is the usual direction. |
| Collage, cells in a row | 1 to 5 | The slider beside each row. A 3×3 of equal cells is not a collage preset. That cut is split photo. |
| Split, rows and columns | 1 to 10 | Gap is 0% to 5%, in steps of 0.5. Margin is 0% to 10%, in steps of 1. Both are a percent of the photo width and of the photo height, after any rotate or flip. |
| Tile and grid overlay | 1 to 20 rows and columns | Overlay also has line color, thickness, and opacity. Tile has the scale slider. Neither one posts anywhere. |
Gap throws pixels away
On split photo, gap and margin are not gutters drawn back into the file. They are strips left out of the pieces. On a 1080×1080 photo at 3×3 with both sliders at 0, each PNG is 360×360. Set Gap to 5% and Margin to 0 and the gap is 54 pixels, there are two gaps, and each piece is 324×324. Set Margin to 10% and Gap to 0 and 108 pixels are left off each edge, and each piece is 288×288. For a profile puzzle, leave both at 0 so the pieces meet. Instagram draws its own gaps between posts. This tool cannot remove those.
Brightness and overlay are side trips
- Brightness sliders run from 0% to 200%. 100% leaves that channel alone. Export PNG, then upload that PNG in the collage or in split photo. Closing the brightness tab does not push the edit across.
- Grid overlay is for the grid method. You pick a count you are willing to draw again on paper, set the line so you can see it, and export a PNG at the photo's pixel size. It does not trace the picture and it does not know the paper size.
- The file input accepts an image. The pages name JPEG, PNG, and WebP. Export from every tool is PNG, except split photo, which is a ZIP of PNGs.
Questions
Can I collage and split on the same page?
No. Export the PNG from the collage, then open split photo and upload that file. The five tools do not share one canvas.
Will photo tile hide the seams?
No. It copies the cell. A seam shows wherever the edges do not already match. There is no blend control.
Does grid overlay trace the photo?
No. It draws rows and columns of lines and exports a PNG. You copy the cells by hand.
Are the photos uploaded?
No. Collage, split, tile, overlay, and brightness run in the browser. Export downloads a file to your computer. The privacy policy is the binding page.
