Collage preset sizes
The five size buttons set the collage canvas in pixels. Square is 1200×1200, IG Portrait is 1080×1350, IG Story is 1080×1920, FB Post is 1200×630, and FB Cover is 1920×721. Export PNG uses pixel ratio 1. The width and height fields override the button. Photos are not uploaded.
Last checked 2026-10-26 against the Square, IG Story, IG Portrait, FB Post, and FB Cover buttons in the collage. Instagram feed ratios are on the Instagram sizes page, which cites the help page checked the same day.
What each button writes
Open the collage and look at the Size panel. The buttons are Square, IG Story, IG Portrait, FB Post, and FB Cover. Clicking one fills the width and height fields. Export PNG then downloads collage- plus a timestamp. The canvas is drawn at pixel ratio 1, so a 1080×1350 canvas is a 1080×1350 PNG, not a doubled file.
| Button | Pixels | Ratio | Use it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Square | 1200×1200 | 1:1 | You want a square frame and you will let a feed scale the width. |
| IG Portrait | 1080×1350 | 4:5 | You want the portrait preset. It is not the tallest feed frame the Instagram help page names. |
| IG Story | 1080×1920 | 9:16 | The destination is a story. A feed post of this file is taller than the feed range. |
| FB Post | 1200×630 | about 1.90:1 | You want the wide post preset in this tool. Facebook does not require this size. |
| FB Cover | 1920×721 | about 2.66:1 | You want the wide cover preset. Keep the subject in the center. |
The fields win over the button
Gap and margin are percentages of the shorter side of the canvas. Both start at 1% and stop at 20%. Roundness stops at 50% of the shorter side of a cell. A custom layout stops at 10 rows, and each row stops at 5 cells. None of those controls change the pixel size of the file. They change the gaps inside it.
- Click a preset if it is close to the frame you want.
- Type a width and a height if it is not. The fields replace the button. There is no second export size hiding behind them.
- Press Export PNG. The filename is collage- and a timestamp. Gap, margin, and roundness are baked into that one PNG. They are not a separate file.
Instagram frames, without repeating the help page
The Instagram sizes page is the place that quotes the help page. Checked 2026-10-26, a feed photo is kept when its ratio sits between 1.91:1 and 3:4, and width above 1080 is sized down to 1080. At width 1080 that is a height from 566 to 1440. This page only says which collage button lands inside that range.
Square at 1200×1200 is inside the ratio, and the width is above 1080, so Instagram scales it. Type 1080 and 1080 if you want the file to already be that width. IG Portrait at 1080×1350 is 4:5. It sits inside the range. The tall edge the help page names is 3:4, which is 1080×1440. There is no button for 1440. Type 1080 and 1440.
IG Story at 1080×1920 is 9:16. Height 1920 is past 1440. Use that button for a story. If you post the same PNG as a feed photo, you are outside the range the help page describes. The tool will still export it. Instagram does the crop, not Collage87.
Facebook presets are export sizes
FB Post and FB Cover are names on buttons in this collage. They are not a size Facebook publishes as a requirement, and this page does not cite a Facebook help URL for them. The numbers come from the buttons, last checked 2026-10-26.
FB Post is 1200×630, about 1.90:1. That is near the wide edge of the Instagram range (1080×566 is 1.91:1), but it is wider than 1080. If the destination is an Instagram feed and you want the wide edge exactly, type 1080 and 566. If the destination is a wide Facebook post and the preset is enough, leave the button.
FB Cover is 1920×721, about 2.66:1. A cover is cropped differently on a phone than on a desktop. The practical rule in this tool is to keep faces and text in the center of the 1920×721 frame. The collage does not preview Facebook’s crop. It only writes the PNG.
A preset is not a layout
The size buttons do not choose 2×2 or 3×3. Layout is the other panel. Square plus 4 Photos (Grid) is a 1200×1200 file with four cells. IG Portrait plus 2 Photos (V) is a 1080×1350 file with two cells side by side. The layout guide is the one that names those buttons.
Split photo does not use these presets. A 3×3 puzzle is a ZIP of pieces from one photo, and the piece size depends on the source photo, the gap, and the margin. If you need nine files, open split photo. If you need one file at a preset size, stay here.
Questions
Does Export PNG double the pixels?
No. Export uses pixel ratio 1. The PNG width and height are the numbers in the size fields.
Is 1080×1350 the tallest Instagram feed frame?
No. It is the IG Portrait button, and it is 4:5. The Instagram help page checked 2026-10-26 names 3:4, 1080×1440, as the tall edge. Type those numbers. There is no preset for them.
Will Facebook reject a size that is not FB Post or FB Cover?
This page does not say what Facebook accepts. Those two buttons are only the presets in Collage87. Type another width and height if you want a different PNG.
Are the photos uploaded when I export?
No. The collage runs in the browser. Export PNG downloads collage- and a timestamp to your computer.
